ALLISON JANNEY TO RECEIVE SPOTLIGHT AWARD - ACTRESS AT 29th ANNUAL PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FILM AWARDS GALA

Palm Springs, CA (November 27, 2017) - The 29th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Allison Janney with the Spotlight Award - Actress at its annual Film Awards Gala for her performance in I, Tonya. The Film Awards Gala, hosted by Mary Hart, will be held Tuesday, January 2 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The Festival runs January 2-15, 2018.

"Allison Janney delivers a knock-out performance as Tonya Harding's mother LaVona Golden in I, Tonya. The usually charming Janney takes a compellingly dark turn as Tonya's abusive, alcoholic mother," said Festival Chairman Harold Matzner. "For this outstanding performance, which is sure to garner awards attention, it is an honor to present Allison Janney with the Spotlight Award."

Allison attended the event wearing a green gown by designer Lela Rose and large statement tourmaline earrings by Leticia Linton. The award was presented to Allison by her ‘I, Tonya’ co-star Sebastian Stan, who Allison praised in her acceptance speech - which you can watch below.
