Allison attended the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 20, 2015 nominated once again for her role as Bonnie Plunkett on MOM, competing for a second year in the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category. Having won the award one year prior, Allison was looking to repeat - something she was quite familiar with at the Emmys from her West Wing days. For the event, Allison appeared on the red carpet wearing a fitted, strikingly glamorous illusion cutout gown custom made for her by Kuwaiti fashion house La Bourjoisie.
Allison won this Emmy for her Season 2 of MOM over Mayim Bialik (“Big Bang Theory”), Julie Bowen (“Modern Family”), Anna Chlumsky (“Veep”), Gaby Hoffman (“Transparent”), Jane Krakowski (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Kate McKinnon (“SNL”), and Niecy Nash (“Getting On”). The Season 2 episode that Allison submitted for voter consideration was “Dropped Soap and a Big Guy on a Throne”. The award was presented to Allison by Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer.
Allison’s 7th Emmy win in 2015 placed her into record-holder status among those with the most acting prizes ever, tying her with Ed Asner and Mary Tyler Moore; at the time, only Chloris Leachman had more with eight.
