September 19, 2004

Allison attended the 56th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 19, 2004 as a five-time career nominee. From 2000-2002, she won three consecutive Emmys: two in the supporting actress category and one for lead actress, all for her work as C.J. Cregg on “The West Wing”

After taking a year off from winning in 2003, Allison was back to collect her final trophy for this iconic role. Allison appeared on the red carpet for this event in vivid green, strapless flowing gown designed by Monique Lhuillier.

Allison won this Emmy for Season 5 of “The West Wing” over Edie Falco (“The Sopranos”), Jennifer Garner (“Alias”), Mariska Hargitay (“Law & Order: SVU”) and Amber Tamblyn (“Joan of Arcadia”). As per Lead Actress category rules, Allison submitted one Season 5 episode for voter consideration; that episode was “Access”. The award was presented by actors Taye Diggs & Victor Garber.
