Allison attended the 71st British Academy Film Awards on February 18, 2018 at the Royal Albert Hall in London as a first-time nominee and eventual first-time winner. Allison was in London for the week to see I, Tonya premiere in the U.K., make the rounds on U.K. talk shows, and attend all the festivities leading up to the BAFTA Awards ceremony.
For the ceremony, Allison wore a structured and striking design by Bibhu Mohapatra. She won her first BAFTA award over Kristin Scott Thomas (“Darkest Hour”), Laurie Metcalf (“Lady Bird”), Lesley Manville (“Phantom Thread”), and Octavia Spencer (“The Shape of Water”).
