"Sisterhood vs. Boss, on a New Battlefield"
New York Times Theater Review. May 1, 2009.
9 to 5 is “blessed with the presence of Allison Janney. This deliciously droll actress is known for playing exceedingly competent people (“The West Wing” on television, “Present Laughter” on Broadway) with much more than mere competence, and her game but dignified professionalism is the show’s biggest asset.”

"Workin' 9 to 5 with Allison Janney"
Out. April 29, 2009.
“It's not quite in my wheelhouse, my book of tricks. But musical theater is such a fun form, you get to do so many things..."Now I've go to sing and make it work!" There's even some scenes that are kind of vaudeville, some classic schtick that only musical theater will allow.”

"Janney a Show-Stealer in '9 to 5'"
Variety. May 4, 2009.
“Everybody in America is in love with Allison Janney anyway — and they have been ever since her seven years as the president’s press secretary on “The West Wing.” Allison, who is playing what they call the Lily Tomlin part (if you are harking back to the iconic movie of the same name) turns out to be just what you’d expect and hope for.”
